Seminar Presentation

hahaha..so funny lah our presentation..hehe..did the aerobic dance in the class...our group was the second group who did the demonstration in the class..the first group was Shaleen's group who did the exercise for deaf people..they also made the demonstration about how to do strength exercise (as far as I remember) for deaf people..Husna and Nazirah's group had placed their exercise video in the slide presentation..Husna's group create the exercise for her sister who have learning disabilities while Nazirah's group did the activities for autism children...

We the third group who did the presentation..seriously speaking, even we just want to do the aerobic dance in the class, but my heart was beating so fast..huhu..nervous lor...haa one more thing, our group have the very little slide numbers..hehe..only 7 if compared with other group who mostly 20+..it is okey since we did an aerobic dance for about 10 minutes..

I felt disappointed and dissatisfied because we did not doing the aerobic dance with the Down Syndrome people..if we do, for sure we have many things to share about and at least we know our aerobic dance is suitable or not for them..one more, the activity must be fun interacting with them..we could learn something new..but after all, this aerobic dance only for suggestion..

Shaleen was acting like a deaf person

Syam as the instructor

Ain as the presenter for our group :)

We were watching Ain and waiting for the demonstration time :)

the low impact aerobic dance :)
actually, the music comes out late than the steps in this video..
I'm laughing at us when watching this video :D
so funny looking at us doing aerobic..
and can't find me?? 'the pink tudung' :)

p/s: no pictures of other two groups lor..

Low Impact Aerobic Dance

Haa siap pun..I'm back from discussing about our presentation tomorrow..We had choose to do low impact aerobic dance for Down Syndrome group for our presentation tomorrow..eh not tomorrow, this morning..hehe...since we did not get a chance to meet Down Syndrome group, so we just do an aerobic dance only for suggestion..we gathered around 9.30 pm to discuss about the aerobic dance..we did the slide presentation to elaborate the characteristics of Down Syndrome person and the activity suitable for them..besides, we also choose to demonstrate the low impact aerobic dance in the class tomorrow...

There was a long process in editing the songs for tomorrow..many songs in this world and we blur which one to choose..hehe..finally, we combined 9 songs about 10 minutes...haa and we choose the songs which we think everyone know..so the demonstration will get more interesting kan?hehe

The most difficult part was making the steps for aerobic dance..we are out of ideas sometimes but finally we make it through..biarlah asalkan ada steps kan..hehe..but the steps also must not have jumping because the aerobic dance is a low impact activities..we practised the steps over and over again..well you know, it is too many combination of songs and sometimes confused juga...do not want to make a mistake tomorrow..so practice make perfect..hehe..haa the only steps that we well in making it is warm-up :D

I hope the presentation tomorrow will goes along as we want and we can make the presentation as interesting as we can..Ganbatte-ne :)

The Best Group :)

Guess what??hehe..we get the best group for today's practical..hehe..thanks to Dr. Ooi for choosing us..hehe..it's all because we did the exercise presentation in sequence and orderly..it makes the whole class more understand about the exercise..and as my expectation, Husna's group also have the similar exercise like us but we separated it into level and not them..

The first thing we did was warm-up ya kawan-kawan..hehe..then, start the exercise presentation of each group..first was Husna's group which present an exercise like us..then, followed by our group and present a little bit same exercise like them..Shaleen's group did a game which called Hide and Seek game and lastly was Nazirah's group which did the musical chair game (but this time she used relung) and also Tai Chi..

As I said, our group separated the Level of strength exercise and starts the exercise with warm-up (flexibility) conducted by Cham..flexibility also consists of 3 levels..let me explain a little bit about the level of strength exercise ok..Level 1 is for beginner elderly who want to do an exercise and it requires support equipment such as chair or wall..Level 2 is not need the support and elderly can holding weighted object such as book, can of vegetables or small dumbell..in Level 3, lightweight resistance equipment such as the dumbell also introduced to overload the muscles..the elderly also can used a heavy household item such as an iron, a stone, or a can of food to substitute the dumbell..the elderly can increase the level of exercise by time..and also, we separated the strength exercise into three parts or sections which is upper body, abdomen, and lower body..

Azma was showing one of the exercise

Cham conducted warm-up (flexibility)

Ain was showing Level 1 strength exercise by using a chair

Me was showing Level 2 strength exercise by using a book

Adot was showing Level 3 strength exercise by using dumbell

I like when we were playing Hide and Seek game conducted by Shaleen's group..maybe because the other three groups did an exercise and only this group did a game..so it was fun..for this game, Ain has to hide and we have to find her..the different between this game from the hide and seek game in a childhood is anyone who find Ain has to hide with her and last person who find Ain is considered lose..we have to find Ain in the dark lab and guess what??only Cham had managed to find Ain and we the other 8 was the loser yo..hehe...

Lastly, Dr. Ooi showed us Xigong..I hope the name is correct..hehe..Xigong is an exercise which also suitable for elderly..look as the easy thing you can do, but it was difficult ok to stand static like that..and Dr. Ooi did it well..me?? sakit badan..hehe..

And finished the practical..I only know about the exercise for elderly right now..I never take it as important before..but after doing all the activities, I seriously think that yes, elderly also should start involve in exercise..exercise has many benefits right, no matter how old you are...and me, as a younger, also had to start exercise..actually, I do exercise but not regular lah..hehe..but now, I have to keep it as regular as I can :)

Note; here the source link for flexibility and strength exercise for elderly

Flexibility & Strength Exercise

Ok..settle about exercise for elderly :)

We have discussed about it and choose to do a flexibility and strength exercise for elderly..and of course, we get the input from the Internet..what should I say??I love Internet..semuanya hanya di hujung jari..hehe..there are many things in that exercise so we only choose some exercise from them..there are 3 levels of strength exercise..so we decided to divide the task in which Ain will do Level 1 of exercise, me will do Level 2 of exercise, Adot will do Level 3 of exercise while Cham will do the the warm-up which is flexibility exercise..haa teratur kan if we do like that?? :)

We know that maybe other group will do the same exercise like us..but it is ok..we will just do what we have...can't wait to do the exercise tomorrow :)

Finally, it's the end of the diary for today..I'm so tired lor..now, time to sleep..Good Night Everyone..

I think probably exercise..

Blind Practical

We have blind practical today..we were doing only blind games/activities and not deaf..actually there were an activity for deaf but the equipment was not working..so only blind games..

As my expectation..hehe..we have to close our eyes with a towel..first game was throw ball into basket with eyes open and repeat with eyes closed..I only managed to get 2 out of 5 with eyes open..even with eyes open, I can't did it well..sepatutnya, must scored 5 out of 5 tau..hehe..and then for eyes closed, hehe..I didn't scored any points..I think at least score lah for only 1 point but no point lah..huhu..so frustating...

Dr. Amit tried it first

with eyes open..

with eyes closed

our scores for both open and close eyes :)

listening to the instruction by Dr. Amit

Then, the second game was "find the sound" game..in this game, the person with eyes closed were trying to find the sound of the bouncing ball..I think this game was easy because we can hear very well..but since I didn't have any chance to try, so I don't know the feeling in this game..only Adot and Syam tried it..

The third game was "listen to instruction" game..the game was played with the closed eyes but the person need to listen to an instructor to tell her where she was going to do next..for example, left, right, 2 steps forward and else..I didn't tried for this game..even so, I think, the game was easier if the instructor were standing right beside you because you will more understand about the instruction given..when the instructor was far away, it will make the person with closed eyes confused about the instruction given..others, the background noise should be eliminate as much as possible..

this game was Nazirah's idea..so she tried it :)

After this practical, the only thing I can say is it was difficult to be blind..and it also make me more gratitude about what I'm having right now :)

S.K. Tanjong Mas Visit

Ok..As I promised, here the long story :)

Today, we went to S.K. Tanjong Mas to have activities with learning disabilities kids..They were in the Kelas Khas in that school..We went there about 8.20 am and arrived 15 minutes later. When we arrived, they were lined up at the gate, smile welcoming us...Then, kami bersalam-salaman and have a boy who likes to salam with kakak yang cantik dulu..hehe..luckily I’m the one..hahaha..

Our first activity was short aerobic dance. They like to dance and always dance everytime they listened to a song and it was fun at that time to see they were dancing..They are so happy and always smile..soo sweet la :)

They were lined up first before aerobic

just dance everyone :)

Then, we starts with our own games for our group..They were 7 kids in group 1 and they are Badrul, Azwin, Hanif, Madiah, Ida, Ayu, and Nazreen. First game is Mummy Mamia..In this game, they have to wrapped their partner by using the toilet paper..Sangat susah to complete this game and take a lot of time. I remembered Azwin, she does not have good technique to wrap her friend...sambil wrap her friend, she kept saying "ish susahlah nie..asyik putus je"..but she kept trying until finished..baguskan?? after finished wrap their partner, the "mummy mamia" have to jump into the relung...For the second game which is Dancing Paper, it was not played until the end because the kids like to dance more on the stage..Like I said, they liked dancing :)

It was no pictures while we were playing those games because we did not have time to take pictures :)

It was a little bit difficult for me to interact with them especially when they did not given the encourage feedback..My group were passive..But I have tried to talk and play with them and I hope it was ok..the kids were shy and pretended like they knew everything and not interested in our games. Maybe we did not know how to make them participate in our games..but at least, we have tried to do the games and interact with them...

Even it was only about 2 hours with them, it was such a good experience for me..I was touched to see these kids..they were always happy and smile..I do respect the teachers and anyone around the kids because they kept continually trying their best to teach the kids and make the kids feel as normal as they can..can I be like the teachers? *can't figure it out*

And then, comes to the pictures :)

on our way..sesat mencari sekolah nie..

yeay!! finally we arrived at the school :)

Shaleen and me

Preparation for Tomorrow

Actually, after the practical with Mr. Rocky, we were discussing about each group's activities with Pn. Vina for tomorrow..and as what Shaleen and me had discussed, we decided two games which are Mummy Mamia and Dancing Paper..we have to buy our bahan-bahan which is used in the games and my group only have to prepare toilet paper for Mummy Mamia and newspaper for Dancing Paper..

our games for tomorrow :)
Shaleen and me = Group 1

Group 1 is the kids who most intelligent than the other kids..

Sekarang, aku baru balik dari Shaleen's room..we were making a cute ‘tag’ which is the muffin tag and smiley tag. We are decided to give the muffin tag to the kids in our group with their names on it and the smiley tag is for win kids in both games..I'm not a creative person..hehe..so I made the smiley tag..simple but comel kan?? :D

the smiley tag :)

Thinking of that, I’m nervous to go to the school since I do not have any experience interacting with these kids..how do they react to us??what I'm going to talk to them??..hoho..nervous nya..But I'm also eager to see them..wait for my story tomorrow :)

With Mr. Rocky Loo

Again, we have an invited speaker today, Mr. Rocky Loo from Malaysia Special Olympics..Special Olympic is a year-round sports training and involved with people with intellectual disabilities..First, Mr. Rooky Loo was telling us about the Malaysia Special Olympics..Then, we start the practical with him..The practical was fun..There are 3 activities in this practical..

First, we have to played Football 3 on 3..we have to play football by using our less dominant leg and off shoe of our dominant leg...so that we do not kick using our dominant leg lor..oooo sgt susah ooo played with my left leg..feel like you are less competent to play even though it was only football..An unexpected thing happened when Adot jatuh during the game..because of that, she was out of the game and need to get rest..Adot jatuh maybe because we still wearing the socks in our dominant leg..so after Adot jatuh, Mr. Rocky asked us to open the socks..for the first time, I scored one goal and it was soooo fun because I never do that before..even so, both groups scored one goal..so seri lah markah kami..both groups menang lah..hehe..I have so tired even we just played this game for only 6 minutes..nampak sangat tak banyak exercise..hehe..and there are some modifications during this game which are we have to reduce space and also participants to make the game easier for people with disabilities...best..best..

After that, we went outside to play Bocce..I have no idea what the game is all about..oo rupa-rupanya cam boling padang..hehe..we learned how to played Bocce and it was not easy as see. It was a very skill game and you have to deep thinking before you roll the ball. I like this game so much...we played and Mr. Rocky told us about the scoring..haa how to play?? first, we have to roll a small ball called pallina..after that, we rolled 4 balls for each groups and we have to roll the balls so that it stop closer to the pallina..if closer to the pallina we win, and if far to the pallina we lose..haa this thing really really needs the skills and thinking.it was not easy to roll the ball..sometimes, the force was high so the ball stop very far from the pallina..and of course, lose..hehe.

me trying to roll the ball

the small red ball is pallina..

Mr. Rocky Loo

after played Bocce..we like taking pictures :D

Haa before played Bocce, Mr. Rocky also showed us Individual Skill Contest..The contest was about to kick the ball to get in the goal area..I've tried and the goal area was small..so I scored only 1 out of 4..hehe..and plus, kick the ball using your less dominant leg ok..hehe

Overall, this practical was so fun. I was enjoyed and at the same time, got some inputs about Special Olympics, the games, and the test..
